Starting at Eiheiji Temple, we follow Eiheiji San Road through rice fields and village lanes, visiting stations along the Echizen Railway before meeting the Kuzuryu River at the final stop.

Electric assist helps with pedalling, but you still need to balance, steer and brake independently. If you have not cycled recently or are unsure about your fitness, contact us before booking.
Are there hills?
There are some slopes. Electric assistance helps, and we ride at a pace matched to you. Please tell us before booking about any health condition that could affect your ride.
Will my guide speak English?
Yes. Your local guide can guide you in English. Japanese is also available.
Can I join on my own?
Yes. The private tour is ¥9,000 for one guest or ¥14,000 total for two guests. You will not be combined with another group.
What is included?
Around two hours with your guide, an e-bike, helmet rental and a snack.
Where do we meet?
In the Eiheiji area of Fukui. We share the exact meeting point after your booking is confirmed. If you are staying at Hakujukan, our staff will come to meet you at the hotel. If you are arriving by public transport or fitting the ride into a day trip, email us before booking to discuss your plans.
Is there a height requirement?
Please email the height of each rider before booking so we can check bike fit. We do not publish a single height cutoff on this website.
What should I bring?
We recommend comfortable clothes, closed-toe shoes suitable for pedalling and drinking water. Bring sun protection or an extra layer to suit the season.
Do I need to complete any paperwork before the ride?
Yes. Before receiving the e-bike, each guest completes a bicycle loan register with the checkout and return date/time, full name, address and phone number. We use this information only for insurance, safety management and contact in the event of an incident, and store it securely.
What happens in bad weather?
We may change the route or cancel if conditions are unsafe. If we cancel because of unsafe weather, any amount already paid is refunded in full. Please read the policy below.
Can I cancel my booking?
Cancel before 5:00 pm Japan time on the day before your tour for a full refund. Cancellations at or after that deadline and no-shows incur a 100% cancellation fee (no refund). If ZEN RIDE EIHEIJI cancels because of unsafe weather or operational reasons, you receive a full refund. Contact us by email or phone to cancel.

Safety & participation
Please follow the guide’s safety instructions and tell us before booking about any condition that may affect your ability to ride. Helmets must be worn. Routes can change for safety. Cycling involves inherent risks, and guests are responsible for their personal belongings.
Bicycle loan register
Before receiving the e-bike, each guest completes a bicycle loan register with the checkout and return date/time, full name, address and phone number. We use this information only for bicycle loan management, insurance, safety management and contact in the event of an incident, and store it securely.
Privacy
Square processes information submitted through its booking service under its own privacy terms. We use booking and contact information only to arrange your ride and meet legal or safety obligations. We do not sell personal information. To request access, correction or deletion, contact us by email.
